3. Simple Ingredient Lists: Herbs or essential oils increase the cumulative risk of allergic reactions over time.

Soap vs soap-free body wash for kids: what is the difference?
Traditional bar soaps are alkaline, and an alkaline wash can strip the skin's natural lipids and move the skin away from its slightly acidic pH. You can use syndet bar that have ph matching that of the skin.
A European expert roundtable on baby skin care recommends soap-free cleansers that keep skin at about pH 5.5. A 2025 Brazilian study of 96 products sold for children found pH values from 4.5 to 11, with bar soaps at pH 8 to 11 and soap-free liquid washes (syndets) closest to the skin's natural pH.
Body wash for kids with eczema-prone or sensitive skin
For children with eczema, Indian guidelines advise a short daily lukewarm bath of 5 to 10 minutes with a soap-free, fragrance-free cleanser of neutral to low pH, followed by a moisturiser.
