  • Drains: Plastic bags block the drains and are a major cause of floods in big metropolitans.
  • Food:  The toxic chemicals from the plastic bag over decades enter soil and water and ultimately our food chain. Like pesticides and insecticides, soon we have to face the danger of contamination of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food with toxic chemicals released from plastic bags littering our environment.

Our survival depends on the delicate balance between the flora and fauna around us; any missing link can play havoc with our environment. Let us do our bit by NOT USING PLASTIC BAGS. Imagine if you can motivate 10 people around you to STOP using plastic bags altogether, a full pile of plastic bags will not be released into the environment. Let us do our bit by:

  • Re-using the plastic bags you have now with you right now.
  • Buy foldable bags that you can carry with you all the time for untimely shopping. I always carry one in my handbag.
  • For planned shopping trips, always carry your own environment-friendly bags. I still remember my dad use to carry a stitched cloth bag every time he went shopping. It was easy to wash and re-use. Why can’t we do that now?
  • You can even buy environment-friendly shopping bags available easily online or in stores. This is worth an investment, after all the health of your near and dear ones is at stake.
  • Even if I forget shopping bag, I prefer shifting the stuffs I buy without any plastic bag from trolley into my car.
  • Request a cardboard carton from the grocery store if you have done a huge shopping, they would be happy to provide you one!

Let us do our bit to save our mother earth and leave our PLANET worth living for generations to come!
