4. Hot food:

The chances of leaching of bpa from plastic into food increases considerably on heating. Thus, you are unknowingly increasing the exposure of bpa to your child and even yourself by packing hot food in plastic containers. This is the reason you should not use plastic containers in the microwave.

5. Safer and better alternatives:

Steel lunch boxes are safer and better alternative because:

  • They are unbreakable and last for years…I must say steel lasts for generations without any harm. On the other hand, chances of leaching harmful chemicals from old plastic containers increases considerably.

  • They can be cleaned more easily, unlike plastic.

  • There no chances of any stains. Plastic containers usually get stained by colored food especially turmeric, but steel never gets stained showing the inert nature of steel.

  • No chances of lingering bad odor. Plastic containers often take odor of the food that lingers despite cleaning, but steel is inert never mingles with your food.

  • They are SAFE. Well, I must not say so, but I am tempted to say that only unconcerned and careless parents would continue using plastic lunch boxes for their family after reading this article.
